Mask of Yuya
Mask of thuya
The mummies of Yuya and Thuya were discovered wearing these cartonnage masks covered with gold splint. Yuya was the father of Queen Tiye, woman
of king Amenhotep III, and hubby of Thuya. Yuya came from the city of Akhmim, where he presumably held estates and where he was a clerk of the Egyptian god Min, the principal god of the area. Thuya held important religious titles, in
addition to the title of the Royal Mother of the Great woman of the King.
